Bible Passage:
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. – 1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)

Truth to Remember:
God invites us to throw the weight of our anxiety onto Him because He is deeply concerned about our well-being and does not want fear to rule or divide our heart.
Devotional Reflection
There was a time when fear affected me mentally and physically. The anxiety took a toll on my body—my blood pressure rose, dizziness set in, and my nervous system became overwhelmed. I could not manage the negative scenarios playing out in my mind on my own, and the fear threatened to take over completely.
During that period, I meditated on God’s promises with every anxious thought. I chose—again and again—to hand my fears to Him. God met me there and consoled me. He assured me that the fate I was imagining was not my portion and encouraged me with His peace. Letting go of my fears was hard, but as I trusted God’s Word, peace slowly came. As I reflected on this passage, I see how deeply God cares and how He offers His peace in place of my fears.
Application: Walking in Peace
Anxiety can consume your thoughts and negatively affect your body. God never intended for you to carry your burdens alone. Each time fear arises, you are invited to hand it to Him. Casting your cares is a repeated, intentional choice, not a one-time decision. Giving your worries to God is an act of humility. It means trusting His strength instead of trying to control what is beyond you. As you choose to release your fears, your heart gradually shifts from tension and division to the calm of His care. Even when anxiety is prevalent, God is present, ready to bring peace where fear has control.
Reflection Question:
What would it look like for you to intentionally give your burdens to God, trusting Him to carry them?
Prayer
Father God, thank You for Your love and for the care You have for us. You are attentive and deeply concerned about our lives and well-being. You see how anxiety affects us and invite us to bring every burden to You. Give us the courage to humbly throw our cares onto You, trusting that You are able and willing to carry them. When anxious thoughts return, remind us that casting is a continuous process. Help us to rest in Your care and cling to Your promises rather than our fears. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Claiming God’s Promise
I throw the weight of my anxiety onto God, trusting that He cares for me and will carry what I was never meant to bear.
